What a combo, Pink Floyd music and a Magic Bag. Wait, I mean at the Magic bag. This Tribute band is by FAR the closest to the real thing there is. Lasers, smoke, video and the best sound system to offer you actually would think it was the Floyd. We have checked out this band first hand at the Opera House in Traverse City and we highly recommend you go enjoy the sounds at the Magic Bag in Detroit. Here's a glimpse of the band as described in their website. http://www.pinkfloydtributeband.net/
With Pink Floyd absent in the live music scene, five musicians from Michigan have risen to fill the void. They joined forces in 2003 to form Echoes of Pink Floyd, America’s Most Authentic Pink Floyd Tribute. Their devotion to the music of Pink Floyd has resulted in countless hours spent recreating the live experience of the legendary rock band.
Echoes of Pink Floyd is not the only group inspired enough to do this kind of tribute project. Far from it! What does set them apart is the amazing detail with which they perform the music. Authentic instrumentation, Guitar tones, drum fills, vocal harmonies, keyboard layers, female backup singers, and impeccably recreated sound effects: all of these are intensely studied and rehearsed in order to bring the listener exactly what they came to hear. Even the most hard core Pink Floyd fanatics are blown away by the meticulous attention to detail!
Every time Echoes of Pink Floyd takes the stage, they are contributing to a legacy. This is not a responsibility they take lightly, for they are playing music that has sold (and continues to sell) millions of albums worldwide and inspires multiple generations of music lovers to this very day! Echoes of Pink Floyd will show you why Saturday, March 31st @ the Magic Bag, Detroit.
Where Ya Headed?
Here's What's Happening
The Token Will Be Rockin' St. Patty's Day!
Have ya ever just shown up at a bar or club and feel the vibrant electricity pushing the walls to the limits? The crowd is alive and jumping and the ruler of the club is jumping up on stage right in unison with everyone. Well that's the experience I have every time The Dirty Americans are performing. From small bars to world size venues these guys don't and WON'T slow down. A private concert in every show. Coming up on March 17th, Livonia, MI is gonna rock St. Patty's day like never before.
The Dirty Americans just released their latest album and will giving everyone a real good taste of it, along with some of their classics. Be sure to check them out at The Token in Livonia on March 17th and tell them Brian from NorthernSpin sent ya. But don't blame me if you don't rock your face off, you just don't know how to have a good time. \m/ (>.<) \m/

The Mega 80s Hits The Magic Bag
I have had the incredibly awesome opportunity to check these dudes out in Traverse City for an 80s party we put together. I must tell ya, no one, and I mean NO ONE can bring you back to the 80s memory lane like they can. I relived my childhood and young adult life all over again thanks to this band. It doesn't matter where you're hanging out in the state of Michigan I recommend you track these cats down. But if you're in the Detroit area, be sure to catch them at the Magic Bag. They have a pretty good hold on several dates there. Here's a little snippet I took directly from their web site to fill all ya Mega 80s virgins out there.
Take a handful of your favorite 80's songs, a splash of some retro fashion, a pinch of panache and an eye-popping video spectacle in the background and what do you get? The Mega 80's, of course! Since their emergence onto the Detroit music scene, the Mega 80's have taken southeast Michigan by storm. Now veterans of the 80's cultural milieu, they are still rocking as hard as ever. The proof is in the pudding. They've since been bestowed with awards such as: the Real Detroit's "Best of..." Best Live Production in 2003, '04, and '05. Best Cover Band in 2006-07, Best Live Performance in 2008, and Best Cover Band in 2009 and 2010. Hour Detroit's best local band, 2009. The Knot: Best of Weddings 2010 pick and one of WDIV's "4 The Best" top 5 bands two years running. This also includes playing at the Palace of Auburn Hills and being highlighted on Mitch Albom and Fox 2 News.
The band features some of the greatest players in the Detroit area. Drummer Jason Gittinger is a musician that can do anything. Jason's talent has been spotlighted many times, such as: TV specials with Kevin Bacon at the Fox Theater, recording international advertising campaigns for companies such as Cadillac, as well as extensive european tours with local and national acts. Guitarist Mick Khzouz, an accomplished musician that can play just about any guitar style, loves the positivity that the 80's era has brought back.
